The United States of Tara

The United States of Tara has just finished its second season, but remains somewhat unknown this side of the Atlantic. It's written by Juno creator Diablo Cody, but don't let that put you off. It is by far one of the most original shows on television. Also it avoids the typical suburban neighbourhoods of California and the like, and instead is based in a small town in Kansas. Toni Collette stars as Tara Gregson, an artist, mother, wife, teenager, old-school housewife, Vietnam war veteran....Tara suffers with Dissociative Identity Disorder, formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder, a condition triggered by stress. Our leading lady tries to live a normal life with her laidback, patient husband Max (played by John Corbett), outspoken teenage daughter Kate, and sensitive sexually-confused son, Marshall. Her younger sister Charmaine lives close by, and often feels overshadowed by Tara's illness.

It would have been easy to exploit Dissociative Identity Disorder and make this show into a brash comedy. Instead, DID is revealed to be an extremely difficult disorder to live with, especially as Tara has no recollection of transitioning or what she does in that state, and also how much her family struggle to live with it. There's still a lot of dark humour in the dialogue, without which the show be a bit depressing.

Her personalities include T, a rowdy and outrageous teenager; Alice, a 1950s style housewife, and Buck, the only male personality, who claims to have had his penis blown off in Vietnam. As the series progresses more personalities come out, such as Gimme, an animalistic and feral creature.

Tara's mental illness is so unpredictable, her children have had to become responsible for themselves from a young age, and parenting often takes a backseat while one of Tara's personalities disturbs the household. Kate and Marshall are mature beyond their years, and are clearly affected by their circumstances. Kate is introduced as a defiant teenager whose rebellion is encouraged by T, but discouraged by Alice, and her sharp wit is indicative of her untapped intelligence. Marshall, who is fourteen at the start of the series, has already come out to his parents but experiments with a girl in the second series. He is a vulnerable soul, who spends time in his room listening to Billie Holiday, and likes Alice the best of his mother's alternative personalities, possibly because she is the most maternal. Kate and Marshall are close and frequently confide in each other. Despite their maturity, they still have naive moments, and times where they desperately need their mother, which can be heart-breaking to watch.

Max is the supportive, fiercely protective husband, who holds the family together. As patriarch of the family, his children show more respect for him than their mentally ill mother. However, Max is often distracted by his wife's condition and the children get away with a lot as a result. Kate and Marshall are sometimes resentful of their abnormal family life, which can lead to fights, but mostly they find their own ways to blow off steam. Charmaine is presented as the jealous little sister, who believes Tara's DID is attention-seeking behaviour, but as the series develops she grows closer to her sister.

Tara is constantly trying to seek answers of her sketchy life, as large chunks have been lost transitioning into the 'alters.' Details of her childhood remain shady and her parents aren't keen to divulge too much information. Thus she's always searching for reasons as to why she developed the disorder and why certain personalities came out. Tara and Max deal with several issues as a result of her condition, including infidelity, childhood trauma, and even social services calling round to see if she's fit to take care of her children.

The alters are however, in the beginning, hyperbolised versions of common stereotypes. T, the wild teenager, is so extreme is can feel a bit forced, and her actions are sometimes more childlike than teenage. Alice, the perfect housewife, is so immaculately presented and neatly coiffed she resembles a cartoon character. Buck, the redneck veteran, is a typical beer-guzzling, gun-toting hick, but lacks the grace to accept Marshall's sexuality. The characters are very exaggerated, but I think they need to be, otherwise it would be difficult to tell Tara apart from her alters. The hyperbole does eventually die down as we get to know Tara and her personalities, which makes it more believable. However it's difficult to narrow down which demographic it's aimed at, as a lot of the problems in the show are encountered by the teenagers.

The United States of Tara is an entertaining, unusual show that's full of surprises and witty dialogue. It's not for everyone, as there's a lot to take in, but it's worth it if you're willing to be patient. It paints a new picture of the dysfunctional family, and shines a light on mental illness. If you think you can handle it, check it out.

Survivor Reality Television Show Contestants Need More Personal Tech Devices

When watching reality Television Shows, specifically "Survivor" it seems rather obvious that when one is walking thru the jungle or over difficult terrain, it might be easy to get lost. They therefore need GPS devices and some type of better lighting. Survivor Reality Television Show Contestants need body mounted lighting and holsters for their personal tech survival gear. One man suggested that;

"With people walking/running, we need a way to keep the light itself to stay direct. We do not want the light from the device to bounce with every twist and turn."

Yes, this is a big concern. The human eyes on the body stay focused all the time. So the vision stays the same and the rest of the body moves. Evolution has provided humans with this incredible design. But if we are to mount a GPS unit and a lighting system on the person we need to consider that there is less bounce and less jarring at the hip and also at the center of the chest.

For the women Survivor Contestants; the light could rest between their breasts on a clip using a fiber optic tiny wire. For men it might be better to use Velcro for the front of the shirt although I generally run without a shirt on? So there is that? And for that naked guy, just Velcro it to his crotch or chest hair and let him deal with that later. Ouch!

That is not difficult really, as there are many personal tech devices and types of survival gear, which are mounted in such a way for this very same reasons. The light should be mounted on a floater. This is a great idea especially for those who jog with it.

Actually one engineer made a very good point and that is if you are tromping through the forest the light will bounce so much that you will not be able to see at night and you will probably get injured sometime through out the night. The GPS unit is not a critical and perhaps could be warn around the neck.

One might also ask what do miners use? And if you are looking at the ground directly in front of you, then you will be trying to look thru the light rather than where the beam might be pointed and a poor Survivor Contestant could easily step on a snake and be out of the contest. This is one reason that Survivor Reality Television Show Contestants need more Personal Tech Devices and why they must be properly mounted. Think on this in 2006.

Virginia Tech and The Extraordinary Change

When the TWA Jet blew up over the ocean off of Rhode Island, I had just finished swimming a mile in my pool. It was dusk and so I had flipped on the pool light to finish my swim. Toward the end of my laps, I was inspired to wonder what it would be like to usher a bunch of souls toward the light. In my imagination, there were baffled teenagers swimming alongside me who I kept saying, "you're okay, swim towards the light, you are okay". Because I've always had an active imagination from a young age, I thought nothing of it until I felt inspired to turn on the television immediately upon entering the house. There the TWA accident flashed across the screen. I immediately remembered that for weeks I'd been half-heartedly looking through the papers for any story on TWA. For days after the explosion, I had images played out in my head with specific details of how the explosion happened and then as quickly as they happened, they were gone.

When the events of 9/11 happened I was on the way to Cozumel, Mexico with six of my favorite people when we got stuck in the Houston Airport and evacuated along with thousands of other travelers that day. For days after the event I felt as if I had done massive quantities of speed so quick were the thoughts and feelings racing through me. I also had many images come into my head including seeing the perspective of one of the terrorists as the plane headed into the building.

Yet with the Virginia Tech shootings I had no foreshadowing of what occurred and an odd sense of detachment. I do not play video games and although I do watch my share of CSI and Law and Order shows, I don't watch a whole lot of violence on television. When I interviewed friends of mine who I consider "spiritual" and connected with a higher source, many of them had the same experience as I did and couldn't explain why. We did feel tremendous love for the people killed and hurt as well as for their friends and family.

One of my Bahá'í friends viewed it from a positive perspective that we are able to detach and love and help raise the vibration level of all peoples by not getting all caught up in the fracas. The only real "hit" I got days later after the shootings was how special the students, faculty, friends and families are at Virginia Tech. These weren't your average bears. I also felt very hopeful when I heard that most of the students were communicating with each other via http://www.Facebook.com and staying under the media radar. In most cases, they were telling the media respectfully, "no thanks".

My sense is that were are in the midst of a really extraordinary collective change, but it's so big that I can't get my mind around it yet. In the meantime, what I can do and what any of us can do is to continue to be willing to see where we can be of help and to pray for the overall healing of the planet. There are spiritual leaders that have said that America is the big hope for major spiritual transformation to occur. From where I sit, it seems like many of us are the walking asleep, but I am hopeful that when/if enough of us wake up, extraordinary changes will happen.

Till We All Come In The Unity Of The Faith

Till we all come in the unity of the faith.

From the beginning of man upon this earth, we have seen at no time, unity in government, social values nor faith in one God. There are many gods and lords many upon this earth. This started many years ago because of the dissatisfaction of man with God and His statutes and laws. The dissatisfaction of man with truth, righteousness and Holiness.

With This dissatisfaction came;

The Twelve Immortals of the Grecians, Dinah of the Ephesians, and of the image(Meteor) which fell down from Jupiter,

Baal of the Phoenicians, Juno and Zeus of the Romans, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva of the Hindus, cows, monkeys, snakes, lizards and even rocks(Meteorites), and all the major and minor gods of mans imagination. Within these religions, and many others not mentioned, there is no unity of the spirit of man with the true God, Jehovah.(The Great "I Am", Lord, God, Jesus Christ.)

Act 17:22-23; Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

"Till we all come in the unity of the faith."

Unity;

Unity of faith, is an equal belief of the same truths of God, and possession of the grace of faith in like form and degree.

Unity of spirit, is the oneness which subsists between Christ and his saints, by which the same spirit dwells in both, and both have the same disposition and aims; and it is the oneness of Christians among themselves, united under the same head, having the same spirit dwelling in them, and possessing the same graces, faith, love, hope.

Knowledge; A clear and certain perception of that which exists, or of truth and fact; the perception of the connection and agreement, or disagreement and repugnancy of our ideas.

We can have no knowledge of that which does not exist. God has a perfect knowledge of all his works. Human knowledge is very limited, and is mostly gained by observation and experience.(Websters.)

Unity of faith and of Knowledge in one true, living and eternal God. This unity comes only from the faith and belief in Jesus the Christ, whom many associate and compare with God Himself, for God and Christ are one. This undeniable truth comes from of faith in God and His word. Not just of the New Testament written after the assention of Christ back to the Father, but from the original Old Testament Scriptures. These scriptures herald the coming of the Messiah and or Jesus to this earth. A savior in the flesh , preordained and prophesied in Scripture. The fulfillment of these prophecy's were fulfilled in Jesus.

Many other religions comment on unifying mankind under one god, many use force, some subversion and some by deception, and others just don't care about unity but self enlightenment of themselves.(These are the ones that hide themselves on high mountains and caves seeking the everlasting(so called) truth of the universe.

Till we all come in the unity of the knowledge of the Son of God, the Messiah.

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

The Messiah;

Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Can we denie the prophecy's of the Old Testament, can we say that, the man Jesus of Nazareth did not fulfill all these things within himself? Can we say that there is another that we wait for that will fulfill, judgment and unity upon mankind? Or will you seek pleasure and salvation in another? Do these dumb idols,that you worship, teach unity or devision, love or hate, life or death, righteousness and justice or bondage?

Unity of the faith cannot come by deception, illusion, the working of wonders, miracles or by force. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.(Heb 2:4) Was not Jesus confirmed, by God, to be His light to a dark world, as the Savior of man, as the Messiah? If this is true, then we must conform ourselves to His image, which is the image of God.

We must conform to one Faith, one Lord and one baptism, which we all are to be baptized in His name. God is never contained, never represented by any image made of stone, gold, silver nor wood.

Gen 1:26 And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." So if you believe God then you must conform to His commandments, you must destroy your images of gold, silver and stone, you must not worship any man born of sin nor animal, creature or fish that God created. What of Gods laws? "Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God. God is not a God of man made image, so why then do you continue to insist on worshiping them? God is not a rock from the sky, nor of the earth, so why then do you bow down to them? Is not God greater than these things? If your children ask for a fish, do you give them a stone?(Speaking of Spiritual and physical food.) Then why then would God send us, His Children, a rock, or cow or graven images, to feed us? Would He not send us the true living Bread from Heaven, in the form of Himself, Jesus? ("For this day have I begotten thee.")Psa 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: To be a child of God, we must adhere to the commandments of God. We must become one with Him as He is one with Christ. We accomplish this by grace threw faith in His Son Jesus. Speaking the truth in love, to our friends, family, acquaints and especially the enemy's of the Cross. We must love our enemies, our neighbors and all mankind, as ourselves. This is not to say that, there is not a time which we must withdraw ourselves from the true enemies of the cross, for there is that time, according to scripture. Christians do not preach hate but rather the truth, in which many are offended. This offence comes from long term indoctrination in lies and traditions of your elders. We must break away from traditions and man made doctrine, that do nothing to unite all in, One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Eph 4:5-6.) Think about it. Ars.

The Hi-Tech Dilemma - The Feng Shui Answer

Are you in constant contact but are never really connected? Do you email, text message and play endless phone tag with no results or no satisfaction - just more messages? Are you more intimately involved with American Idol, the cable guy and your iPod and iTunes than you are with your family and friends?

The high-tech world of isolationism and indifference continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Now don't get me wrong - a great service is being provided by all of this wonderful technology. It certainly works great for those of us that like to order products, do research online and provide or receive information quickly. Technology gives us the ability to instant-message, send emails around the world in a heartbeat, watch the space shuttle land in real time anywhere on planet earth and download the latest music for your listening pleasure - but at what price?

Do Relationships Suffer

Is it possible this is just a generational thing - or is something going dramatically astray in both the personal and business communications and relationships arena? Are we, and have we been creating at least two generations of loners - adults, families, employees and children - who are so technologically oriented that they no longer know how to interact with family members, teachers, peers and bosses in a personal face-to-face manner?

Are relationships between children and parents suffering in this impersonal, pre-recorded faceless world because there no longer is any real connection with each other - no time to talk, no hugs, and no direct interaction? Are client/business relationships suffering because there is no eye contact, no telephone conversation where you can hear the receptiveness of the voice on the other end, and no visual body language to observe? Are you, your children, your employees so electronically connected and/or isolated that you are have no meaningful connections? The result:

o emotional isolation

o loss of clients and business

o loss of interpersonal communication skills

o loss of connection between parents and children

o a collapse in the ability to communicate with civility

o an unbalanced life.

Some Feng Shui Solutions

All technology is very hard impersonal energy. The more time spent with electronic equipment, toys and tools, the higher the yang energy and the further one spirals into the world of isolation and indifference - and total unbalance. Several suggestions based on Feng Shui principles follow to help build a bridge of balance from high-tech to emotional connection.

1. Offset the high-tech time by setting aside at least two hours per day where you are not wired or connected electronically. Reserve that time to connect through one-on-one conversations with family, children, friends, clients or co-workers.

2. Because communicating electronically is so very impersonal, surprise a loved one or client with an actual phone call instead of "texting" or emailing. If you receive a phone message from someone - return it. You automatically receive some satisfaction or emotional connection through hearing the message but the person that called is still electronically impoverished, waiting for your return call.

3. Stop, look and see. Look at what is going on around you, in your surroundings, with your friends, with your children - see what is happening in your environment. Actually observing firsthand creates an emotional connection. This provides much needed grounding energy - the yin type tactile energy needed to balance the high yang energy.

4. If you know you will have a really high-tech day, wear clothing that will provide you balance. The clothing best suited to do this is loose fitting but not baggie and in varying shades of earth tone colors - not too bright. They will provide you much needed peaceful grounding energy.

5. If your daily routine is filled with computers, television, iPods, cell phones and a countless number of other electronic devices, make sure the colors on the walls of your office or home and your furniture provides you balancing energy. Furniture should be upholstered in soft earth tone colors or should be natural wood. The walls can also be light earth tone colors or light green.

These same suggestions apply to children as well as adults. When a child is exposed 24/7 to high-tech games, toys, television and instant communication tools, they become hard-wired high energy and very disconnected from their surroundings, parents and any symbol of authority. While all of this technology provides a great babysitter - it also limits the child's ability to communicate and connect with others.

Yes, our wonderful advances in technology have provided us much in the form of instant communication and being in touch. However, great care much be taken as we are learning to use it to compensate for its hard edged impersonal energy.

The place to begin is by being aware of its downsides - and then creating balance through using a few basic Feng Shui principles.

'Peacock' - Film Review 2010

Harkening stylistically back to the glory days of Hitchcock, straight-to-DVD release 'Peacock' deserved a full-fledged theatrical run; chock full of quietly devastating performances, the film is one of the most quietly tension-building offerings since genre-definer 'Fargo'.

John Skillpa (played flawlessly by 'Batman Begins' scarecrow Cillian Murphy) is a small town bank clerk residing in Nebraska, a socially stunted loner living in his deceased mother's Norman Bates-worthy home. A freak train accident in John's backyard lights a powder keg of events that threaten to unveil his deepest secret and unravel the fragile script that has become the glue of routine in John's life.

Excellent supporting roles from Susan Sarandon and Bill Pullman add richly to this sadly under-seen psychological thriller, although Ellen Page ('Juno') is a tad underachieving as single mother Maggie. Little matter though, as 'Peacock' is all Murphy - his stunning multiple roles within the film's duration are both nuanced and manic, a rollercoaster of contrasting emotions at war within a character that is both simultaneously pitiful and menacing.

Detractors might argue that the dual characters at the heart of 'Peacock' are too transparent to make for a believable plot, but the producers do a skillful job at making the small town encompass a time gone by; what may seem obvious in the contemporary sense was often the furthest thing from anyone's mind in the 1950's, and the film accomplishes capturing the past admirably. An intentionally open-ended finale may leave some viewer's scratching their heads, but overall 'Peacock' is a satisfying mystery-laden thriller that is well worth a look.

Rome Centre - The Home of Christianity

For centuries, Rome has been the site for pilgrimages. From the doorway of many a hotel, Rome centre has been a starting place for providing Christians with a way to discover, or rediscover, the history and reality of the Catholic Church.

Early Christian

Abandon your hotel - Rome centre is the start of your journey to the past, when Christianity was at its earliest stages. The Catacombs are cemeteries constructed underground by ancient specialists- the fossores or gravediggers. They carved the walls of dirt and stone creating gallery after gallery for the dead.

The most famous catacombs date from the 2nd century. To reach them, you will have to travel beyond your hotel in Rome centre, along the former consular roads to the former suburbs of their time. Currently, you can visit any or all five of the following Catacombs:

1. The catacombs of St. Agnes, Via Nomentana

2. The catacombs of Priscilla, via Salaria

3. The catacombs of Domitilla, via delle Sette Chiese

4. The catacombs of St. Sebastian, via Appia Antica

5. The catacombs of St. Callixtus, Via Appia Antica

While it may seem slightly ghoulish to visit the Catacombs, it does give you a chance understand early death and burial customs - especially noting the funerary paintings on the walls.

From Temples to Churches

The survival of many an ancient pagan Roman temple has depended on its conversion into a Christian Church. You can find examples throughout the city where the early religious buildings were taken over by the newer form of religion. Put on comfortable shoes, even though you may be taking a taxi, and leave behind your hotel. Rome centre is a significant part of this history.

Your expedition should firstly take you to the Forum. Here stands the former Temple of Romulus. It became the vestibule of the Church of Santi Cosma e Damiano sometime in the 6th century. This semi-circular brick temple is topped by a cupola with other points of interest being the concave porch and two original heavy, bronze doors. The church also occupies a former hall of Vespasian's Forum of Peace. Visit to see the 18th century carved figures making up the Nativity scene.

The Pantheon was designed by Emperor Hadrian to celebrate the pantheon - the collective name of the Roman Gods. Its noted feature was its magnificent dome. Hollow decorative coffering helped to decrease the overall weight of the dome. This made the entire structure more stable with the help of the structurally embedded brick arches. The dome features an oculus - an eye or hole in the centre. It is the only source of light to this remarkable and beautiful building. Of particular beauty is the marble floor with its restored Roman pattern.

Many people come here to pay homage to the artist, Raphael who is entombed within, some to admire the architecture, and others to see the tombs of Italy's former kings.

Santa Nicola in Carcere is a small medieval church in the Campo de' Fiore. It stands on the sites of three Roman temples: Juno, Spes and Janus. Inside, several columns are integrated into the walls and testify as to the origins of this church. The Roman columns and an early bell tower are points of interest.

San Clemente, with architectural elements from the 4th century, is one of the earliest Christian churches. Beneath it, however, lie the ruins of several ancient Roman buildings, including a temple dedicated to the all-male cult of Mithras. Several frescoes illustrating his life are of interest.

Rome also has many early Christian churches. Not all were built on the foundations of pagan temples. Among them are Santa Pudenziana, with its extraordinary 4th century mosaic, and San Cecilia in Trastevere,with an altar canopy by Arnolfo di Cambio. Beneath San Cecilia is another Roman ruin worth visiting - the ruins, not of a temple, but of a Roman tannery.

All these historic sights are well within easy reach of your hotel - Rome centre and her history await!

Virginia Tech, Why God

I could feel my Spirit lift, I felt as though I was floating. I looked down at the lifeless shell that was once my body. It looked empty, meaningless. Just as I began to ponder my death, a light shimmered down towards me. The light was so blinding that I tried to shield my eyes, but I couldn't.

I trembled from my head down to my feet. A supernatural strength engulfed my body as the sight captured my heart and opened my mind to victory. Suddenly an overwhelming love sent joy rippling through my soul. The game of life was over and I had won the ultimate prize. I pondered this illumination.

During my game of life I never gave up, I held tightly to my faith. I refused to do evil, always prayed and held tightly to verses of love, hope and perseverance during the difficult times of life.

I passed my tests of life on earth and now I was brought before the throne of God to receive my reward. I stood before Jesus Christ with no fear. Every good thing I accomplished had been written in the book of life. Every sin I had committed out of foolishness and pride had been erased and pardoned, because of the blood of Christ.

I saw my life appear before my eyes as Jesus lovingly focused His attention on me. It was a flash so powerful that I gained many great revelations. All the times I thought I missed the Lord. All the times I failed to pass a test came flooding back to fill me with understanding about how they helped me find my purpose.

Luke 12: 49-53, "I came to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already kindled! I have a baptism to receive, and how distressed I am until it is over! Do you suppose that I came to bring peace to the world? No, not peace, but division. From now on a family of five will be divided, three against two and two against three. Fathers will be against their sons, and sons against their fathers; mothers will be against their daughters, and daughters against their mothers; mothers-in-law will be against their daughters-in-law, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law."

Every word from the Bible opened up and revealed to me their purpose. I began to understand why God made me gay during a time when the church preached that it was sin. When my family, children and church misunderstood my lifestyle, I stopped relying on people and completely dedicated my life to serving God.

My humility, brought on by the persecution I faced, taught me to listen to the voice of God. I understood how the teachings of Christ changed the Laws of Moses and began to set the world on fire. Fire that made families and nations fight against each other so that goodness could be revealed.

These revelations led me down roads I would not have traveled. Roads that led me to fulfill my life purpose. A voice that would inspire me to look at the world in a brand new way. The Holy Spirit taught me the difference between right and wrong.

When we look at the world as a game then we begin to see the battle that is fought between good and evil. The world's current events help us see how the game of life plays out in the world. It shows us how evil fights against good.

Massacres in schools like Columbine and Virginia Tech plainly show how evil can motivate people to do hideous crimes. History exposes the evil lives of leaders who gas their own people and evil regimes that enabled a mad man to annihilate millions of Jews during the Holocaust.

For every evil person who commits horrific crimes against people, many more good people spur stories of truly inspirational lives. Professors who gave their lives for their students. Students who gave their lives for other students. People who died, but how they lived their lives, inspired all of us to choose to be better people.

What happens in life is the very reason why we must understand that we are in a great game of life. It is very easy for us to lose the reason behind why we are born into such a chaotic world. We can get sidetracked by work, higher education, having the newest electronic gadgets, or just by trying to build a better life for ourselves than our parents.

In order to win the game of life we must understand that we are in a game. We also must understand that in order to win, we must fight for the side of good which comes in our belief that there is a God.

Isaiah 45:5-7, "I am the Lord; there is no other god. I will give you the strength you need, although you do not know me. I do this so that everyone from one end of the world to the other may know that I am the Lord and that there is no other god.

I created both light and darkness; I bring both blessing and disaster. I, the Lord, do all these things."

We must grab a hold of the Spiritual part of life all of the time. Not just when we are personally pulled into a dramatic life-changing tragedy. We must understand the battles that are occurring between God and Satan. To do this, we need Jesus to save us and to give us the interpretation of our world through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Job 1: , "When the day came for the heavenly beings to appear before the Lord, Satan was there among them. The Lord asked him, 'What have you been doing?'

Satan answered, 'I have been walking here and there, roaming the earth.'

'Did you notice my servant Job?' the Lord asked. 'There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is. He worships me and is careful not to do anything evil.'

Satan replied, 'Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it?'"

From that moment Satan was given control over Job's life in order for God to test him. Job lost his children, wealth and position in society and eventually his health. In his humility, everyone including his wife, tried to get him to believe that this was a punishment sent by God. Job refused to listen and he continued to hold tightly to his faith. Even though he was in the most weakened and afflicted condition that no human being could ever overcome.

Job's life teaches all people about the war we face between good and evil. A war where Satan is given the ability to come in and corrupt the minds of men, if they refuse to give their lives to God and love. These are the people who choose to hurt others.

This is the reason why Virginia Tech happened. This is why Hitler was able to kill so many helpless Jews. This is the reason why genocide occurred in Africa and many other countries. Evil people and regimes gave into evil for power, wealth and influence.

It's time to look at our world as a game. It's time to gain wisdom from the massacres and murders perpetrated on innocent people. We must choose Jesus as our Savior and allow Him to work in our lives for good.

Exodus 20: 18-20, "When the people heard the thunder and the trumpet blast and saw the lightning and the smoking mountain, they trembled with fear and stood a long way off. They said to Moses, 'If you speak to us, we will listen; but we are afraid that if God speaks to us, we will die.'

Moses replied, 'Don't be afraid; God has only come to test you and make you keep on obeying him, so that you will not sin.'"

When God is head of our lives we go through life and evil can't pull us in and make us do its will. No matter what others do to us we never do the same. We look at the evil found in the world and we fight against it because we understand our game and we decide to fight for God!

I stood before my creator, He smiled and said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Setting The Stage For A Spectacular Wedding Reception Through Lighting

The banquet room is immaculately set. The flowers adorn every table. You splurged and spend the extra to have the white chair covers. The appetizers are passed as guests mingle with drinks in hand. The music softly plays in the background, setting the perfect tone. But wait, the lights in the facility are on so bright that they drown out the candle light. Lighting can ruin the stage - at the wrong level or cued at the wrong time.

Lighting can add or detract from your wedding reception. The banquet staff runs around and has little care for lighting. Asking them to dim the lights once dancing starts is like pulling teeth - most of the time they just don't want to be bothered. How important is lighting? Fill the dance floor and then go turn the lights on full bright and see what happens. The dance floor clears and people are slow to come out and dance. Dim the lights again and the dance floor energy builds once again at your wedding reception.

Imagine an event where there is a dedicated person responsible for setting the theatrical stage with light. The lights dim at exactly the right time. The room changes from blue to pink as the bride and groom enter. A spot light follows them as they walk towards the dance floor for their first dance. The entire room pulsates with changing lights and patterns when your guests are filling the dance floor. Green laser beams arc across the room. Look up; the ceiling is filled with stars from a gobo projector as the night sky is portrayed above your heads. You are dancing beneath the stars at your wedding reception.

Your wedding reception disc jockey and lighting specialist can create not only the perfect soundtrack, but can set the stage for a spectacular visual experience as well with today's high-tech lighting options. Flood lights, computer controlled luminaries, gobo projectors and LED color wash lights can make this happen at your wedding reception.

What Does Monorail Lighting Do and How Easy is It?

Monorail - or single rail - lighting products have witnessed a huge growth spurt in trendiness over the last few years-with the products sold by a wide assortment of producers in record numbers. Just what has caused the home design world to embrace monorail lighting products so, and make it so trendy? It's simple: monorail lighting products allow flexibility that has never been seen before in any type of lighting product.

Without spending thousands of dollars on a contractor, a designer or homeowner can contour the lighting plan exactly how they envision it using monorail lighting. Adjustments are done without tools, in a matter of a few minutes with monorail lighting products, making them all the more desirable because they are so simple. As a matter of fact, they are simple enough a child could put them together.

Monorail lighting product kits are put up for sale as a set of hubs and rails that connect together. When they are put together, the rails are bendable, permitting the designer or homeowner to form the shape they want for their lighting needs. Low voltage light units may be placed at different spots on the rail, replaced or simply taken away. However, the benefit of this product comes from being able to attach the bendable rails in whatever way the designer wants.

Because of this, the lighting solution will fit the home to a tee, and make everything look just like a custom, high-end, expensive lighting job. Now that there are loads of producers in the monorail lighting business, it is simple to locate just the right kind of lighting for any home atmosphere. And it is just as easy to put them together, and create that atmosphere easily.

In spite of a wide choice of products, it is still imperative to pick producers wisely. Monorail lighting product kits endure a good deal of stress because they are adjusted often, which makes durability one of the key concerns in their design. Selecting a vendor that can and will give the best in both durability and appearance is important because of the stress the kits go through. Tech Lighting is a vendor with a good reputation that can provide quality products. Although a large variety of products that fits into any home atmosphere is offered by Tech Lighting, they specialize in monorail lighting kits.

Designers are able to pick from a gamut of light fixtures because Tech Lighting products are interchangeable. Tech Lighting products can give the right ambience to the businesses and homes that designers are working on, and provide them with that flexibility which is a blessing in disguise, too. With one of the biggest selections in the business, Tech Lighting products lets the consumer choose from different shades of metal for the monorail to different light fixture units. Pick from an assortment of shades, up to and including satin nickel to antique bronze. Light fixture designs range decorative art glass to minimalist to innovative.

Women of the Gold Rush Era Not Told to Stay Home

Okay, you males out there - listen up, because it's way time for you folks to get a clue. I don't know where the mid to late 1900's male idea that women are helpless came from, but it is quarter past high time for you all to get over it. Women do not have the raw body strength ounce per ounce that a man has, we aren't going to argue that. If I had an acre of land to plow I would undeniably hire a man over a woman any day. Where the idea that I am helpless follows from that, is such a quantum leap of logic that it can't realistically be given any credence.

I'm going to cut you just a bit of slack, and blame it on the fact that life in America has become

so cush that men just don't really much get the chance to see what a Woman can accomplish

when put to the test. Did I forget to mention in the last paragraph, that if there was no one I could

hire, I would get it done on my own.

I am a woman. I am a rockhound. As a rockhound, I travel to places out in the wilds to collect

my treasures. I do this with no company other than my dog most of the time. It is relaxing and

keeps me mentally sharp, physically fit, and well entertained. Unfortunately, I continually get

slammed by men who feel this is wrong for me to do. It is dangerous. I am too old. The car

might break down. I might get lost. Anything could happen. And the one that really gets under

my skin - I belong at home unless I am working or running errands. These are seriously

attitudes that I am faced with frequently.

One February I was stranded in the Ochoco Mountains. Temperatures were in the single digits

at night. It took me 4 days to get out. When I hit the main road, I flagged a car to get a ride to

town. My dog and I were a bit dirty, but didn't feel any too bad. The same day that I walked out

onto the main road, a man was being dragged off of Mt Hood in a stretcher. He had been out the

same amount of time I had been. He didn't fare so well. Guess no one ever taught him to climb a

tree to get dry wood to get a fire going. He wasn't a smoker, so he probably "just forgot" his

lighter, too. The press did it up real well. I was never contacted to talk to the media - guess it

might have made the guy look bad, or just wasn't exciting without a major rescue involved.

When I got to town I called my boss. He fired me without even asking if I was alright. He

simply pointed out that I had no business going off by myself. Not even on a day off. To this day I

firmly believe that had I been a male, my prowess at getting out of the situation in one piece would

have been highly applauded. Would a man have been told that they had no business leaving the

house on a day off?

Another man asked me if I had "learned my lesson" meaning did I know now my place was in

the home. I quickly pointed out that yes I had. I learned that for a 44 year old woman I was still

pretty buff. I also learned that I can still build a campfire that would make an Indian cry from

jealousy. Oh, and that crayfish and fish are really easy to catch when the water gets cold enough.

The truth is that throughout the history of this nation, women have proved to be able to handle

any conditions a man can, handle any crisis a man can, and even excel financially in even the

roughest of environments. Some of them can do this better than the very man who might have

told them that their place is in the home.

Mining towns and camps were not the easiest places to live. Just getting to some of those

towns in those days was often a life threatening journey. Women were just as likely to survive

the trip as the men were. The towns themselves were often built to be temporary and were

nothing more than tents or cabins with dirt floors at best. Winters were bitter, food often scarce

when weather would not permit supply wagons through. But there were women in these camps.

Surprisingly, many were making more money than the miners.

Once in the camps, women proved to be very enterprising, very necessary, and very well able

to handle the conditions. They set up businesses washing miner's clothing, cleaning, and much

money was made by good cooks.

One miner's wife, Mrs. C.J. Everson of Empire, Colorado made her fortune when she

discovered and patented a new means of concentrating metals by pouring pulverized ore in a

solution of water and an oily substance and agitating it. In the early 1880's the new method of

concentrating allowed many local mines to double and triple their production of gold and silver.

Bet none of the miners ever told her that she should not be there.

Of course there were women, also, that went into the field of mining themselves. I can't

imagine a man being so pig-headed or insipid to have ever told Nellie Cashman that she had no

business out there in the rough, that she was too frail, or not smart enough to handle the rough

environment.

Nellie was born in Ireland in 1845 and her family came to America during the potato famine. In

1872 she and her mother moved to the Pioche, Nevada mining camp area and opened a

boarding house there. Pretty rough country for a couple of women on their own, one an aged

woman at that.

Nellie moved on a few years later on her own to the Cassiar district of British Columbia, close

to where Juno now stands, where she operated a boarding house and started to actually to do

some placer mining of her own.

It was here she claimed the title "Angel of Mercy". Nellie was in the Victoria area when she

heard that her fellow miners at Cassiar were hit by an extremely violent blizzard. No one could get

through. Supplies were running out. People were sick. There wasn't much time to lose in saving

her friends. How could she get through? Not one man who had tried had succeeded.

No one remembered to tell Nellie that her place was in the home. She gathered supplies,

dogs and sleds, hired a few hands, and was off to the rescue. No one could make it through. But

Nellie did.

Her ability to get through the snow that no one else could get through, bringing life saving

medicines and supplies to the camp made her famous. No one told Nellie that she had no

business out there - that she wasn't capable or that something might happen to her, or that she

didn't belong out there. The miners were damned grateful that she had the grit to go - they

thought of her as a hero. She had saved them from miserable deaths. She had accomplished

what no man had been able to do.

Nellie continued to work boarding homes and hotels in mining districts. She also became quite

knowledgeable about mining geology and worked and owned several claims. She made much

money and gave much of it to hospitals and churches. In 1905, at the age of 60, Nellie moved to

Nolan Creek in Koyukuk country, the northern most mining area at the time, and a more than

harsh environment. Nellie spent the last twenty years of her life there, working and purchasing

claims which she worked with her own hands and the help of a few paid assistants.

At the age of 79 she finally gave up tending her mines and claims when her health began to

fade and worked her way south to receive care at Sister's of St. Ann in Victoria - a hospital that

she had contributed much funding for forty years earlier. She died there in January of 1925, at the

age of 80.

Okay, sure, that is one woman, but there were others. Need more convincing?

Caroline Moorehouse Mallin, born in Ohio in 1829, was widowed with 2 children. She became

an extremely successful miner in the Buena Vista area of Colorado. She worked extremely

dangerous avalanche areas at high altitudes, and had 15 mines recorded in her name. Caroline

worked these claims by herself.

The work was not easy. Caroline did her own mining work - shored up her mines with timbers,

drilled and blasted, and even hauled the ores all by her little self. At home life was no easier. She

had to haul water almost a mile, and had to go down the mountain and haul supplies back. After

all she had two children to care for on her own. When the end of the miner's day had come and

the men started their journey's home to sit and rest after a hard day, Caroline got to go to her

second job - her home and family. Someone forgot to tell her that this kind of life was too hard for

a woman, or that she might become lost if she ventured from home on her own for supplies.

Olga Schaaf is another woman who just missed the fact that the wilderness is no place for a

woman. Olga started breaking horses for pay at the age of fourteen. At twenty-six she married a

mine owner and worked for him taking pack trains of Burros up the mountains to deliver supplies

to miners who had no means to get supplies in winter. Olga became famous when stranded at a

mine during a snowstorm, she was able to save the lives of the miners (and incidently her own),

leading them out and down the mountain she knew so well to safety and supplies. None of the

miners receiving Olga's delivered supplies, nor those that she rescued from the mine told her that

a woman needed to stay home because something might happen to her if she left the house on

her own.

Mollie Kathleen Gortner had a different reason for going to mining country - Cripple Creek,

Colorado. She went to visit her son. While there she was looking for a herd of elk her son had

told her about when she accidently found gold, a find that started her own mining career. Her son

staked her first claim for her, but the Manager at the claims office told her women couldn't file

claims. By the time she left the office, however, she was the proud owner of the soon to be

famous Mollie Kathleen mine. Guess someone forgot to tell her that it was too rough for a woman

out there.

Doctor Susan Anderson (Doc Susie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana moved to the mountains for her

health after finding out she had tuberculosis. She went from Cripple Creek to Denver and on to

Greeley finding little acceptance in these towns for women doctors. She moved back up to the

Mountains of Fraser, Colorado when her illness worsened. She did not tell the people there that

she was a doctor, but word eventually leaked out despite. Doc Suzie ended up with many patients

and was known to travel to very remote places in very difficult weather to treat them. The sick and

injured miners she treated seem to have forgotten to mention that being a woman she was likely

to become lost if she ventured out into the mountains on her own.

Now if these stories aren't convincing, all you need to do is troll through the histories of the

myriad of mining areas during the gold rush era. Women played a major part of these histories.

They not only supplied the services that miner's needed, but many were miners themselves,

working all day just to return home to care for their families and friends. The men in these camps

and towns did not tell the women to stay home. They did not admonish them for going into

environments that were hostile or outright dangerous, or where life was hard. Sure bad things

could happen - but they could, and did, happen to men, too. ( Hmmn. No one ever told a man he

should have stayed home if something happened to him while he was out). Men knew they

needed these women, and were grateful that the gals could handle it out there so well. Life would

have been much rougher without them.

All in all, where men came up with the idea that women are helpless is really unclear. Do they

tell us not to go places because they are afraid that THEY couldn't handle it and would have their

egos severely bruised if a woman could handle something the man could not? Or are they just so

selfish that they think that a woman who is to have a man in her life is to completely give up her

life to be available 24/7 to serve his needs because a man can't take care of himself without a

servant for a day or two, or just don't want to have to do anything for themselves? Perhaps they

are worried about the poor little fragile thing like a woman (funny they don't worry about protecting

her from children's vomit and diarrhea or blood, terrible working conditions, or just plain over

work).

Now in light of what you just learned, you can see that women just see your protests as silly,

juvenile attempts to control another person's life for your own selfish wants. For those of you who

kiss your women goodbye even though there is danger where she chooses to go, you are to be

commended for your rationality. The rest of you need to get a clue, grow up, and learn to take

care of yourself a little bit without the continual need of a "mommy" to do it for you. We really

don't need your guidance to decide how we want to live our lives or what is best for us.

Now that I have unloaded and have spoken my mind, I need to get out of here. There is a

mountain that I want to go check out. If you have a problem with that, don't bother emailing me. I

am not receptive to your childish and tyrannical whims. You may feel free to call 1-800-waahh

with your complaints anytime, though. Maybe the man that answers the phone will be more

understanding.

Tech Gadgets Mysteries - How Do Solar Panels Work?

Solar panels present a cost effective way to reduce your electricity expenses. Consider investing in a solar power panel or panels for your home. The increasing cost of living needs creative to cut it down and save.

A solar panel is a device that harvests the sun's energy and converts it into electricity. This electricity produced can be used to light up homes or any other places. Even for home appliances, the electricity can as well be used.

You are assured of a continued supply of electricity in your home with solar. Solar power panels have photovoltaic cells arranged in a grid-like style that allows them to collect the sun's energy.

How it works

The solar panel is equipped with special conductors that convert the sun's energy to electricity. The solar power panel must be used with batteries. They are for storing the collected and converted energy for later usage. Your needs can therefore be met via tapping into this stored electricity. Solar powered homes are cost effective.

Solar panels have been used with the following devices:

* Sun Bricks

* Solar powered security cameras

* The Light Cap, a solar powered water bottle

* Solar powered bikes

* Solar powered Aircraft

* Solar powered Phones

* Solar powered Watches etc

If poorly maintained though, your solar power panel can easily wear out. The cells wear out causing the functioning of the panel to be hindered. Your solar panel has to be placed away from any harm. Once the surface is harmed, your panel becomes useless.

When buying a solar power panel or a solar charged device:

Look out for the following:

* Type of material used i.e. crystalline silicon is the best of them all in the market right now

* Solar panel must come with a complete power kit

* The size and watt per hour conversion of the panel determines how much you pay for it

* The life of the battery, how long will it last you?

If you are selling a solar panel, it is perhaps vital that you mention:

* The type of panel,

* Watt per hour capability of the panel,

* The size of the panel and its other important features that separate it from the others in the market.

Nothing saves you the trouble of the electricity company like solar panels. Your reliance on the supply grid ends and you in turn can save lots of money. You otherwise would have to pay huge electric bills. Investing in a solar panel is deciding to be wise and cutting down your overall spending on power. It is a decision that bears fruit sooner than you hoped. Buy your panel and start enjoying these benefits.

Palm Springs Film Festival

Glamorous stars, creative directors and Hollywood moguls congregate in luscious Palm Springs sunshine at the 19th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. They come here to accept their awards, meet their fans and celebrate their notoriety. But there's also another reason for their presence here. Since the 1930's and the golden days of the Palms Springs Racquet Club, stars have been attracted to the Desert like fireflies to a porch light on a balmy, summer day.

Why is that?

Forget the films, the panels, the chance to meet the stars- while you're in the middle of all that, stand outside a little apart from the crowd and look up. You will see and feel the natural opulence, the breathtaking presence of a star-studded a Palm Springs evening. The star-studded jewels in the sky and the jewelry-studded Hollywood stars on the Red Carpet are natural companions in this fabulous venue. More than 200 films from all over the world, dozens of appearances and award ceremonies, an unbeatable congregation of incredible film panels create the intrigue and excitement of this event but they can never completely obscure the natural opulence of their setting.

Although the entire schedule is still draped in mystery, we do know that this year, Jerry Weintraub will receive the prestigious Patrons of the Arts Award presented by emissaries from SAG in honor of his contributions to the film industry. Sometime actor, sometime producer and sometime manager of the Stars, Hollywood has surely felt his touch. We also know that Jason Reitman's Juno will receive the Chairman's Vanguard award. But when the full schedule is released, it will be as dazzling and surprising as ever.

January 3-14 is just stone's throw away in time, but there is still chance to plan for a twelve-day event that you will never forget. This is the 19th year of the famous film festival, started by Mayor Sonny Bono, Cher entrepreneur/singing partner, whose visionary political leadership spanned the rebuilding of Palm Springs downtown, a serious Salton Sea initiative and the creation of an enduring film festival. By this time, there are few directors, actors or cinematographer's who have not somehow touched the Festival with their talents or their personal appearance. Recently Shirley Maclaine, Kate Winslett and Sydney Pollock have received their honors personally. Last year, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett accepted an award for their Movie, Babel.

The film festival is a natural place for the stars to visit as they have continued to do since they fell in love with Palm Springs real estate during the era of Charles Farrell and Ralph Bellamy's discovery of the Racquet Club. Elvis Presley, Groucho Marx, Bob Hope, Liberace, Frank Sinatra were one of the hundreds who have lived or played here. We wonder if, besides the living, the shades of many Hollywood celebrities of Palm Springs rest easier as this festival honors their great legacies. Surely, Sonny Bono will be among them, a happy parent to what is now an enriching global epiphany of talent, film and natural splendor.

Thinking Beyond the Box With a Juniper Reseller

In this modern day and age, your business is only as stable as your computer network. Businesses have become so reliant on computer networks that they now play an immense role in profitability, productivity and even in company security. However, if you are not using Juniper systems for your network, you might be cutting your own throat. There are numerous reasons to work with a Juniper reseller.

It's a System, Not a Collection of Closed Boxes

Juniper has taken a new stance on networks - they're total systems with compliant software, not a disjointed series of switches, boxes and disparate components. A computer network should be a single, integrated whole, not a compilation of various pieces. In accordance with this view, Junos (Juniper's unique OS) is included in all of their switches, routers and security components, ensuring that everything works seamlessly together for the highest performance possible.

Why a Single OS Matters

At this point, you're likely wondering why you really need to care about having a single OS operating across your network's infrastructure. What difference could it possibly make? The answer to this might surprise you. If you have multiple operating systems at play in your network, you are losing performance, speed and reliability. Miscommunication between network components can open you up to crashes, bottlenecks and slowdowns that compromise your profitability. In addition, you are missing vital functionality that can boost your bottom line. In a world where time is money, you cannot afford to have any possible concerns.

Better Positioned for Future Growth

The goal of your business is obviously growth (or at least it should be). That growth can compromise your computer network if you do not take a proactive stance and work with a Juniper reseller today. Juniper's systems are immensely scalable, allowing you to build now for the potential growth that you hope to have in the future. Not only does this ensure that you have the power, performance and reliability that you need when growth occurs, but it saves you money as well. Obviously, buying more system than you need now is a waste of capital. However, with a system as scalable as Juniper's offerings, you can ensure that growth will not present any problems whatsoever.

Choosing a Juniper Reseller

Making decisions for your business should never be something that you take lightly. You'll need to make sure that you choose the right reseller, in addition to making the decision to use Juniper's offerings. Not all resellers are the same, so it pays dividends to do some research first. What should such a firm offer? Essentially, you should make sure that the company you choose has been in business for a decent length of time (startups are fine, but longevity shows dedication and quality), and you should also make sure that they have a reputation for providing top-notch customer service and being there when needed. Even with technology as stable and reliable as Juniper's, you can have questions and concerns. Your reseller should be there when you need them.

Recessed Lighting at Home

Recessed lighting is a fantastic option for brightening a room. With this type of lighting you are able to not only light up an entire room, but spotlight areas that may need extra light as well. If you have an area of your home that is primarily used for reading, adding brighter recessed lighting over that area can greatly reduce eye strain. Recessed lighting can also highlight artwork that you may want showcased.

Recessed lighting is extremely helpful light in the kitchen as most household work is performed on kitchen counter tops or islands. These are locations of your home that need the most light and insufficient lighting can be frustrating. When looking at lighting options, take a glance at different fixtures for different areas of the room. It may be that over the kitchen island you'll want a different recessed fixture for a higher volume of light.

Recessed lights are also great for the living room of your home. Often times we like to decorate with table lamps and floor lamps in rooms such as these, but left alone, these provide little light. Having recessed lighting in the room will make it bright enough without taking away the focus of the decorative lamps.

If you're remodeling a room, try placing recessed lighting on dimmer switches to really allow a dramatic effect. Also, different lights placed in certain areas of a room can be put on different switches, allowing you to control what lights are on in a room for convenience sake.

Photonic and LED Light Innovation Applications and Commercial Opportunities

Many innovators, inventors and high-tech LED light companies are looking for more applications for their lighting systems. There are many state-of-the-art type applications such as flat panel instrument panels in aircraft, and their technology is much needed and appreciated by the industry. The ability to modify the color, brightness, etc. is a godsend for pilots.

Still, most of the application that people really want are indeed, low tech uses of their high-tech equipment and this can hurt the inventor's or innovator's psyche, but they must understand something. Well you know you have to give the humans the "bells and whistles" they really like that stuff!

If something blinks, makes noise, it makes humans happy. Just like dogs like squeaky toys. Or chimpanzees are enamored with games that have blinking lights. It is something that gives sensations to their senses, drives curiosity. Just look how people sit in front of silly slot machines at the casino and feed it "real money" I mean come on, it's the lights!

Yay! They just love it, so sometimes you just have to give people what they want, not what they need. You see, often enough, they don't want what they need, they want what they desire, that's what they are willing to pay for.

So unless what you make solves some major dilemma on their climb of Maslow's pyramid, then stick to the simple stuff. Besides, you have to admit, it's cool to put on events like the festival of lights for people to see. You know, like when the Fourth of July Celebration is happening everyone goes "oooh and awe" that's just how people are. Oh humans like shiny metals and rocks that reflect lights too. Just smile and think on it from a philosophical perspective.

Tech Gadgets Mysteries, How Do LED Lights Work?

Quality lighting does not come any better than with an LED device. Whatever your lighting need, an LED device gives you quality lighting like no other. The lights are colored differently and create any beautiful color scheming you want. Just buy the right LED light.

An LED light is a tiny light bulb that does not have a filament like the conventional light bulbs. Instead, they use a technology that allows small objects inside them to give out light. They don't burn out therefore like the other light bulbs. These objects are efficient and can last a long time. You can fit your LED lamp lights into a circuit easily.

Applications of LED

* Decorative Lighting

* LED Indicators

* Retail Display Lighting

* Mobile Backlighting

* Display Backlighting

* Casino Gaming

LED lights can be found in a number of devices. You can use this electronic gadget efficiently at reduced costs. These gadgets include:

Devices with LED lights

* Digital watches and clocks

* Remote controllers

* TVs such as Plasma

* Traffic lights

However, like any other gadgets, LED lamp lights have their own limitations:

* Absorb more and there light is concentrated on one direction

When buying LED lights for your lighting needs, consider the following:

Consider

* Efficiency of the lights

* Longevity of the LEDs

* Price tags, there are expensive and affordable ones

* Color of the lights depending on your need

When in the business of selling LED lamp lights, it is important to write about the following aspects of their working:

Write on:

* Longevity, they have no filament that burns out

* Efficiency compared to incandescent bulbs

* Durability from their small plastic bags

Solve your need for LED lighting today by buying and trying the great potential these lights have to offer. They last longer, work efficiently and consume little less energy. Your normal bulbs are incomparable to them in working and delivery. Try it out today for yourself.

Skateparks and Skateboard Parks of the Future - Low-Tech Changes

A study has just been completed by an online think tank, which seems to indicate that Skateboard Parks are changing and still evolving. There will be many high-tech changes and uses of technologies at these facilities, but there will be low-tech changes too.

Significant changes also on the low-tech side of skateboard parks and Hover Board Parks of the future must be considered as well. For instance they will double as rain-water collection areas, where the water will run off thru simple filtration systems to be used for cleaning, farming and other important uses.

In fact these concepts are already emerging as Architects and AIAs are considering the issues with challenges in future water supply. Water shortages in urban areas and growing suburbs as populations increase will be over-taxed to the breaking point. The Skateboard and Hover Board Parks offer a chance to collect rain-water.

Skaters for Public Skateparks (SPS), which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group that specializes in promoting skateparks in the United States and abroad stated;

If your city doesn't have a skatepark, then your city is a skatepark.
Their point is that if you do not want skateboarders around town in shopping centers, government properties or in front of businesses then you need a skatepark, because if a city chooses not to address the issue, they have already made a choice. Their group is an advocate for safety and free access to skateparks for all skateboarders;

Skateboarding is Not a Crime!
In the future we can expect more traveling skateboard parks perhaps the size of two tennis courts that will be delivered to parking lots of retail centers to promote the video games, hover boards, accessories and high-tech Virtual Reality digital equipment for the living room of the future.

These "Insta-Skate Parks" will come on two or three 18-wheelers and fold out and pop-up and be ready within hours for 10s of thousands of spectators and 100s of local hover boarders to compete and watch Pro-Exhibitions.

Flexible skateboard ramps at skate parks may also one day power up the lights for night skating by generating energy as the skateboarder puts energy into the ramp. Low wattage bright lights will then be directed down onto the skatepark and shine bright without taking a huge chunk out of the City's electrical bills. The Skateboard Parks will continue to evolve well into the year 2020.
